EASY-SCALE™ 

Installation Instructions
for MSpa (integrated pumps)

Included with your EASY-SCALE™ kit are 2 screw-on caps, 2 x pump adapters,

 a pre-assembled pipe fitting kit and a sachet of Oust (or similar) descaling solution.
(Oust not supplied with non-UK orders due to shipping restrictions).

Always rinse your EASY-SCALE thoroughly with clean fresh water before and after use.

Descaling should always be done with an old towel underneath your EASY-SCALE™ to capture any spillages.

 The fittings that keep the water in the tub need to be removed, thus you will need to empty the tub prior to descaling.

We recommend OUST descaling solution.
Always use a suitable descaling solution or tablets and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions.

1. Ensure tub is empty of water.  Switch off pump.  Remove filter from bottom fitting.

2. Using the wrench that came with your tub, undo and remove the 2 fittings that secure the pump to the tub (pic 1).

3. Screw the long adapter into the top right and the short adapter into the bottom left of the pump. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN OR USE PLIERS AS THIS WILL DAMAGE THE THREADS. Screw your EASY-SCALE™ into the top (right) adapter (middle EASY-SCALE™ fitting) taking care to screw it on straight and not cross-threading the unit.  Attach the pipe to the front (bottom) of your EASY-SCALE™ and the other end of the pipe onto the short adapter (bottom left). Ensure all fittings are tightened, including the caps, hand tight only.  

4. Fill EASY-SCALE™ to about 2” below the top.  Switch on pump and test for leaks (filter only), tighten fittings and / or caps if necessary.  Add more water if needed, then the Oust (or similar).

5. Run pump for a minimum of 30 minutes on heat (30°C) *** DO NOT ALLOW THE WATER TEMPERATURE TO EXCEED 40°C *** - if this happens, simply reduce the heat accordingly. The water may turn rather milky – a good thing – the milkier the solution, the more limescale you are removing.

6. Switch off pump. Hold an empty jug under the bottom fitting.  Undo the pipe (EASY-SCALE™ end) allowing the solution to empty into the jug.

7. Reattach the pipe, refill with clean fresh water. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for a minimum of 5 minutes.

8. Remove your EASY-SCALE™. Pop the adapters and pipe inside the EASY-SCALE™ ready for next time.  Refit the fittings to the pump.

9. Replace the filter (if necessary) refill tub with water.

10. Switch on pump and enjoy once again.

Included with your EASY-SCALE™ kit are 2 screw-on caps, 2 fittings with pipes pre-assembled and a sachet of Oust (or similar) descaling solution.

Always rinse your EASY-SCALE thoroughly with clean fresh water before and after use.

1. Prepare the Tub:  Put the 2 preassembled fittings in a jug with some very warm (not boiling) water.  It makes them malleable and easier to push into the pipes of your pump when descaling

2. Switch off pump.  Cap off the inlet and outlet on the inside of the tub.  Remove pump from the tub; unscrew all 3 pipes between the pump and the tub.  Elevate pump if possible as it makes it easier to drain.

3. Remove pipes from the jug of water.  Screw fitting D onto uppermost and pipe C onto same side and bottom fitting of your EASY-SCALE.  Screw on hand tight only

4. Connect your EASY-SCALE™:

5. Attach your EASY-SCALE to the pump; push your now assembled EASY-SCALE into top and bottom left of your pump ensuring both pipes are aligned to enter your pump simultaneously  

6. Make sure all fittings including caps are tightened, hand tight only.  DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN OR THIS WILL DAMAGE THE THREADS ON THE FITTINGS AND / OR YOUR EASY-SCALE 

7. Fill & Test:  Fill EASY-SCALE to the top.  Switch on pump (filter only) to fill the pump with water whilst topping up EASY-SCALE to about 50mm from the top. Test for leaks. Tighten fittings, caps if necessary then add descaling solution (Oust or similar)

8. Descale: Run pump for a minimum of 15-30 minutes on heat (30°C) *** DO NOT ALLOW THE WATER TEMPERATURE TO EXCEED 40°C *** - if this happens, simply reduce the heat accordingly.  The water may turn rather milky – a good thing – the milkier the solution, the more limescale you are removing

9. Drain & Rinse:  Switch off pump.  Hold an empty jug under the bottom fitting.  Undo the blue bottom cap allowing the solution to empty into the jug

10. Reattach the blue cap on the bottom fitting.

11. Refill to the top with clean fresh water and run the pump for at least 5 minutes. Repeat the Drain & Rinse cycle until the water appears clear.

12. Final Steps:  Remove your EASY-SCALE.  Place the assembled pipes inside the EASY-SCALE ready for next time.

13. Reassemble: Refit the pump to the tub, remove caps from the inside of the tub.   Switch on pump and enjoy once again
